Advancing the Future for Adults with Autism is an organization that works closely with America Speaks to better the lives of adults with autism. In 2009 AFFA held a National Town Hall Meeting to create a national policy agenda which AFFA plans to propose to Congress.

The Citizens’ Forum is a new form of participation developed by the Bertelsmann Foundation, the Ludwig-Erhard Foundation and the Heinz Nixdorf Foundation. It is a 6-8 week online deliberation embedded in two live events, one at the beginning of the process and the other one at the end. Developing a Framework for a Mental Health Strategy for Canada was a project started by the Mental Health Commission of Canada that took place from June 2008 until September 2009. The goal of the project was to increase awareness of the issue of mental health to the nation and to create and frame an official strategy for the country of Canada to adhere to, in order to properly address the issue as a unified nation.
