Bonny Ibhawoh is a professor of History and Global Human rights at McMaster University. He is currently the Acting Vice-President for Research at the University. Was previously the Director of the Centre for Peace Studies at McMaster University. His research interests include international human rights, and peace and conflict studies. He has taught in universities in Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States. He also has extensive experience working with international research and policy think tanks. Dr. Ibhawoh was previously a human rights fellow at the Carnegie Council for Ethics and International Affairs, New York; a research fellow at the Danish Institute for Human Rights, Copenhagen, Denmark and associate member of the Centre for African Studies, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, UK.
Dr. Ibhawoh is the author of several books on the topic of human rights and Peace Studies including Imperialism and Human Rights. His latest book is titled Imperial Justice. As a believer in the value and utility of public scholarship, Dr. Ibhawoh writes for an academic audience but also strives to disseminate his thoughts and research on human rights and peace/conflict studies beyond the academic community.
