Biography: 

Jesi is inspired by compelling stories, engaging spaces and discovering cultures through travel. As Participedia's Design and Communities Coordinator, Jesi brings a diverse skillset to the team, including interaction design, graphic design, project management and web based communications. Jesi has a history with Participedia, having worked as a Research Assistant during her university years, and is thrilled to return to help launch the next phase of Participedia's development. Born and currently living in Vancouver, BC, Jesi holds a Bachelor's Degree of Interaction Design from Emily Carr University of Art and Design. In addition to periodic design contracts with Participedia and a stint as an in house graphic designer for Henriquez Partners Architects, Jesi has co-founded two social startups since she graduated in 2013. As Design Partner of Basic Design, a social enterprise with a passion for up-cycling, and Board Chair of Cultivate, a non-profit society focused on building collaborative food gardens, Jesi strongly believes in the power of design as a tool for activism and community engagement.
