Problems and Purpose

IntegrAzione was established to provide citizens with information concerning developments in a Roma settlement in Italy, especially in the district of Florence. Additionally, current legislation and policies influencing the situation of the Roma population were covered. The original purpose was to decide with inhabitants on local policies concerning the Roma settlement in order to foster integration of the communities.

Gacaca courts are community trials, which try the perpetrators of the 1994 Genocide in Rwanda. They are a unique and large-scale national experiment in collaborative justice systems, and pose an important precedent for participatory community justice across the world.

Purpose and Problem

The Unified New Orleans Plan (UNOP) was organized to create a comprehensive plan for the city of New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The highly detailed plan addresses the specific actions necessary to facilitate the recovery and rebuilding of New Orleans. The UNOP was established because both the City of New Orleans and the Louisiana Recovery Authority (LRA) require the creation of a recovery plan post all natural disasters, in order to capitalize on both federal and state aid.
