The project “The Shop of the Future” was designed to create a public debate with citizens through participatory processes and dialogue. The objective was to harvest ideas and proposals for improving quality of life, involving people from all social backgrounds. Thus the project was designed for citizens, city officials, and businesspeople. It took place in the municipality of Casamassima, a small city with 18,000 inhabitants in the province of Bari in Puglia.
Habitat Conservation Planning (HCP) in the U.S. is a plan that prepared under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) by nonfederal parties who want to obtain permits for the incidental taking of threatened and endangered species. They are planning documents that describe the anticipated effects of the proposed take permit. It must also describe how those impacts will be minimized or mitigated and how the HCP is to be funded. They have to ensure that the species will be conserved and that they will contribute to their recovery.

The purpose of the 2008 National Performing Arts Convention in Denver, Colorado was to include the inter-disciplinary arts community in a 21st-Century Town Meeting in an effort to construct a common agenda, create a multi-disciplinary infrastructure, and aid artists in advocacy. These goals would ultimately lead to those in the community being able to communicate the importance of the performing arts in the United States of America and having definitive methods for strengthening the future of the performing arts within the nation.

The Constitutional Council was a body of 25 appointed Icelandic citizens, which was charged with creating a constitutional draft between 6 April and 29 July 2011. Initially the constitution was meant to be revised by a nationally elected assembly, but following a controversial Supreme Court decision to void the assembly elections, the Icelandic parliament (Althingi) appointed the elects to form a council.
