Biography:

I was born in 1950, and live in Bologna; I am married and have two sons, at present university students.  I am an associate professor at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Bologna where I teach courses in environmental policy, policy analysis, urban policies and public administration. I also teach at Dickinson College, Bologna.

My research interests are in the field of road safety policies, environmental policy, sustainable development, environmental conflicts, and deliberative democracy and public engagement.

Over the last years my interests are mainly in the field of citizen engagement and deliberative democracy. In 2007- 2008 I followed the Dialogue, Deliberation and Public Engagement Certificate Program offered by Fielding University (California, USA). Since October 2008 as ‘Participation Authority’ I am responsible for implementing law no. 69/07 of the Tuscany Region (an English version of the law is available at www.consiglio.regione.toscana.it/partecipazione/documenti/l_r69_2007_English.pdf). I have planned and managed several deliberative events, among which the Italian particiapatory event of the World Wide Views on Global Warming promoted by the Danish Board of Technology.
