Hollie Russon-Gilman holds a Ph.D. and MA from the Department of Government at Harvard University and is fellow at the Ash Center for Democratic Innovation and Governance at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. She holds an A.B. from the University of Chicago with highest honors in political science. Her research interests include the impact of technology on government transparency, open government, and civic engagement, as well as democratic innovations with a particular focus on deliberative democracy in context. Russon-Gilman's dissertation examines Participatory Budgeting in New York City a pilot project for the FY 2012-2013 examining the largest implementation of Participatory Budgeting hereto in the United States. Prior to her graduate studies, she worked on the Barack Obama Campaign for Change. Russon-Gilman is a Fulbright recipient.
