Sarah is a PhD candidate at UBC Political Science. With mind, body and heart, her intellectual labours are committed to developing a democratic ethics of care from South Asian and Islamic political thought. Inspired by the traditions, stories and ethos of her motherland, Pakistan, she hopes to ground our understanding of political judgement and freedom in the revelatory and (extra)ordinary experience of sentience, attachment and affect in hopes of surfacing the human in all of us, beneath and beyond political subjectivities. in particular, her work focuses on archiving, celebrating and learning from stories of resilience, intergenerational healing and courage of ordinary people in the Everyday who undo the knots left behind by histories of violence.
