Cassandra Fontana
Member Since 2025Cassandra Fontana, an urbanist and academic researcher, navigates the interdisciplinary intersections of urban planning, urban political ecology, and environmental humanities. With a Ph.D. in Regional Planning and Public Policies from IUAV Università di Venezia, and a master degree in Environmental Humanities from Roma3, she currently works at the University of Florence, Architecture Department. Her research focusses on environmental justice and climate related policies, with specific attention to the issue of governance, of participation and the implications of a more-than-human perspective within them, in both European and Global South contexts. In addition to her primary interests, she actively investigates environmental conflicts, biodiversity policies, and urban utopias
