Science Communication Working Lunches were begun with the intent to provide science communicators with the opportunity to share good practice, develop skills and network. Topics ranged from practical skills development to distributing academic and practitioner research. [1]

What Went On: Process, Interaction, and Participation

The Science Communication Working Lunches (SCWL) was a series of lunchtime events for the science communication community. Working Lunches focus on the practical issues affecting science communicators, providing opportunities for professional science communicators from a range of backgrounds to develop their skills. By networking and sharing good practice at the lunches, science communicators enhance their knowledge of current developments in public engagement and dialogue. [1]

Influence, Outcomes, and Effects

A series of lunch-time events for the science communication community, provided opportunities to share good practice, develop skills and network. Topics ranged from practical skill development to distributing academic and practitioner research.

A road show working lunch toured the UK and provided science communicators with the opportunity to learn more about participative methodologies, and techniques and learn from those who have undertaken public participation exercises on scientific issues. [1]
