Scott Fletcher, Participedia Team

Member Since 2015

Hi! My name is Scott Fletcher and I'm Participedia's managing editor. I also oversee Participedia's social media presence on FacebookTwitterLinkedIn, and Medium, and assist our partners with web design and qualitative and quantitative research. I have an Honours Degree in Political Science from the University of British Columbia and you can read my thesis, "The Promises and Perils of Information and Communications Technology: Three Systems-Based Approaches to the Assessment of ‘Passive-ICT’ in the Democratic Context" here. I'm interested in every aspect of public participation: from the actors and their motivations, to the processes and their outcomes - and everything in between. I am also currently helping UBC's W. Maurice Young Centre for Applied Ethics document the use of deliberative minipublics on issues of medical ethics and emerging technologies.

Feel free to contact me at [email protected] for any questions related to Participedia content or participatory democracy in general. You can also find me on Twitter @canucklebones, Facebook, and LinkedIn
