A city-led program to promote a sustainable model of local development by fostering the development of a circular economy between the agricultural production of rural peripheries and the vibrant consumption market of São Paulo’s city centre.

Problems and Purpose

By fostering the development of a circular economy between rural producers and city-center consumers, the Ligue os Pontos program aims to:

  1. Support sustainable urban agriculture production for a healthier food system in São Paulo, in order to
  2. Limit the city’s unplanned and massive urban sprawl, and
  3. Guarantee food and water security[1]
