Problems and Purpose

This is an ongoing project that aims to demonstrate democratic practices going beyond standard citizen involvement such as voting, to highlight the benefits and reality of deliberative and participatory practices [1]. The overall aim is to learn how these practices might be applied across different political contexts around the world [2].

What Went On: Process, Interaction, and Participation

The first task is to develop a guidebook that will not only discuss different examples of deliberative democracy but also lay out how to conduct them [3]. The project will also fund three pilot projects and produce a documentary on deliberative democracy in 2019-2020.
