In 2017 Parramatta Council in NSW convened its first citizens' jury to decide on a design and plan for its new civic building and library.

Parramatta is a local government area in Greater Sydney. In 2017, the council convened a citizens' jury to help decide on the design and features of a new civic building which would include a library and council chambers.

Organizing, Supporting, and Funding Entities

The jury was convened by the City of Parramatta council. It was facilitated by Lucy Cole-Edelstein, of Straight Talk (now part of RPS group).

Participant Recruitment and Selection

33 people participated in the jury. They were recruited through random selection and stratified to include representatives from all suburbs in Parramatta and to reflect the city's census profile demographically [1].
