The Citizen Conference on the Future Energy Technologies (Bürgerdialog “Energietechnologien für die Zukunft”) was organized by Germany's federal research ministry as part of a larger dialogue on new energy technologies. In November 2011, 100 citizens met to draft recommendations.

The process included eight regional conferences with randomly selected citizens. In early November, all participants of the regional conferences (about 100 people in total) met for a final two-day meeting during which they drafted a report with policy recommendations.

The final report was handed over to political authorities but its policy impact is unknown.
