Afin de se doter d'un Plan directeur d'aménagement et de développement pour les 10 prochaines années (2020-2030), la Société du parc Jean-Drapeau (SPJD) a opté au printemps 2018 pour le déclenchement d'un processus de consultation publique pilotée par l'Office de consultation publique de Montréal (OCPM). Fruit d’une démarche participative et de consultation, les différentes activités de la consultation, en personne et en ligne, ont dénombré plus de 7 100 participations. Le rapport de l’OCPM, avec ses 19 recommandations, a été rendu public le 10 avril 2019.
