Fondaca - Foundation for active citizenship is a European think tank that was established in November 2001 and is based in Rome. The Foundation uses citizenship as a point of observation of the transformations underway in contemporary societies and democratic systems.

The Foundation uses citizenship as a point of observation of the transformations underway in contemporary societies and democratic systems.
The main themes of the Foundation's commitment are the following:
- the new forms, expressions and practices of citizenship in contemporary societies;
- the nature, role and impact of civic activism organizations and their relationships with their public and private stakeholders;
- the public role of non-state actors, starting with private companies;
- the process of building European citizenship;
- the new forms of democratic governance.

- support and advice for the implementation of policies
- cultural and scientific dialogue
Origins and development
It was formed in November 2001 and is based in Rome.
