Mission and Purpose
Secwepemc Women's Warrior Society are a group of indigenous land defenders from Secwepemc territory in British Columbia. Currently, they are defending nonconsensual access to their lands by the proposed Kinder Morgan pipeline by building a series of tiny houses along the proposed pipeline route. The society argues that there is a specific threat to indigenous women from the pipeline (aside from the taking and destruction of their land) because of the establishment of temporary worker camps comprised of non-indigenous men, resulting in an increase in sexual violence against indigenous women.
