The Chocó Solidarity Interethnic Forum is a space for dialogue and coordination between ethnic-territorial organizations of black, indigenous, mestizo, youth, rural and urban women, and victims of the armed conflict in Chocó, Colombia.

Problems and Purpose

The Chocó Solidarity Interethnic Forum offers a venue for dialogue among ethnic-territorial organizations of black, indigenous, mestizo, youth, women, and victims of the armed conflict in the department of Chocó. It was created in 2001 as a strategy for the protection and dialogue of the communities in the context of the humanitarian crisis caused by the armed conflict in the region.

Its purpose is, within a regional peace agenda, to elaborate organizational policies for the construction of community autonomy, the defense of territory and natural resources. The forum is made up of 123 human rights organizations. In 2016 it was awarded two prizes: the Franco-German Human Rights Prize "Antonio Nariño" and the National Prize for the Defense of Human Rights.
