In 2016, the Nicaraguan Women Editatona (Span. Editatona de Mujeres Nicas) initiative involved the collective editing of Wikipedia articles in order to enable woman to contribute to knowledge on Nicaraguan feminism.

Problems and Purpose

The Nicaraguan Women Editatona (Span. Editatona de Mujeres Nicas) was a campaign of collective editing of Wikipedia articles, which took place in 2016. This participatory initiative was part of a global effort to increase the number of women editing the online encyclopedia, Wikipedia, especially the entries related to women and feminist figures in the country. This initiative was a space in which women could contribute to the editing, translation and writing of knowledge on Nicaraguan feminism.
