Influence, Outcomes, and Effects
The mini-public formulated policy recommendations, which were publicly presented at a Bürgercafé (Citizens’ Café) on June 7th 2013, including citizens and politicians (around 100 people). The recommendations focused on (1) improving pedagogical competences; (2) enhancing talents and encourage strengths; (3) triangle of parents, teachers, students; (4) flexible, life-long education offering diversity instead of all the same; (5) increasing the reputation of apprenticeship system (Lehrberufe) ; (6) education starting with the family. In addition, an uptake of recommendations from representatives of education organizations took place in a one-day workshop (June 8th 2013) to look into concrete implementation possibilities (around 25 people). Both the Bürgercafe and the workshop resulted in a magazine (Gute Aussichten – good outlook).
