“Battle Against COVID-19” (Batalla contra COVID-19) is an initiative of the Dominican Political Observatory (Observatorio Político Dominicano) that has oversight functions to monitor and analyze government responses against COVID-19 and its social implications.
Problems and Purpose
‘Battle Against COVID19’ is a subdivision of the Dominican Political Observatory from Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE). It was created in 2020 with the aim of monitoring and studying government policies and social phenomena related to the public health emergency triggered by the Covid-19 epidemic. The Observatory’s researchers for this project focus on monitoring the effects of the measures taken by the government to stop the epidemic, as well as on economic and social issues that should be taken into consideration by decision-makers.
